Saving your sketch as an image file

Flick toward this icon (or for Mac, press Cmd+S or for PC, press Ctrl+S ).

The Save As window appears for PC users and the Save window for Mac users.
In the Save As window, use the Save in pull-down list to select the folder where you want to store the sketches.
By default, sketches get stored in your My Pictures folder.
In the Save window, use the Where pull-down list to select the folder where you want to store the sketches. Or, click the arrow beside the Save As field to expand to a column view.

In the Save As field, leave the unique name already typed in for you, or change it to a different name.

NoteThe Save As field uses the last file name you used, incremented by a numeral. For example, if you saved the last file as “HOUSE,” the next file you save is “HOUSE1” by default. If you saved the last file as “HOUSE001,” the default is “HOUSE002.” Or, enter another file name.

NoteOnly the TIFF and PSD image formats preserve layers. Saving them as any other image format flattens them. Only use Autodesk SketchBook Pro to read TIFF files containing layers. We do not advise you to open these images in other programs because we cannot guarantee layer preservation.
