1. In the Layers window, click the layer you want to move, rotate, or scale.

   

   NoteMoving, rotating, and scaling a layer only affects the current layer. To move, rotate, or scale the entire canvas, merge all the layers first.

2. In the main tool interface, flick toward this icon, or hold down the V key.

   

   The Move/Rotate/Scale Layer tool appears, and follows your stylus around:

   

   • To move the layer, highlight the outer circle of the tool labeled move. Click, then drag to move the layer around the canvas.
   • To rotate the layer, highlight the middle circle of the tool labeled rotate. Click, then drag in a circular motion in the direction you want to rotate. The number of degrees of rotation displays from the time you entered the tool.
   • To scale the layer bigger or smaller, highlight the inner circle of the tool labeled scale. Click, then drag to scale up or down to display the percentage scaling. Remember, a layer is scalable only to 6400 x 6400 pixels.
   • To non-proportionately scale the layer, highlight the top of the middle circle, then do one of the following motions:
     • Drag up to stretch the layer length.
     • Drag down to squish the layer length.
     • Drag to the right to stretch the layer width.
     • Drag to the left to squish the layer width.
   NoteIf using the V hotkey, press and hold it down, as you click the top of the middle circle, and drag up, down, right, or left.
3. When satisfied with the layer placement, close the Move/Rotate/Scale Layer tool (or choose a brush).

   The layer is “baked”, meaning you can no longer move, rotate, or scale it on its own. If you do not like its placement, choose Undo and try again.

   NoteThe pivot for rotation and scaling is in the center of the visible canvas when you entered the Move/Rotate/Scale Layer tool. To change the pivot, zoom and move the canvas until part of it is off-screen. Keep only that part of the canvas that you want centering on the pivot for rotation. Enter the Move/Rotate/Scale Layer tool again to use your new pivot.

• In the Layers window, click the layer you want to move, rotate, or scale.

  

  With a new layer selected as the current layer, follow the instructions in Moving, rotating, or scaling the current layer to move, rotate, or scale it.

Flip or mirror a layer.

1. In the Layers window, click the layer you want to flip.

   

2. Select one of the following choices:

   	Image > Mirror Layer . Mirrors around the vertical center axis.
   	Image > Flip Layer Vertically . Mirrors around the horizontal center axis.
