                 Windows 98 Driver Installation

(A) Installing the driver on Microsoft Windows 98
================================================================
Notice: The Windows 98 or Windows 98 SE installation CD are need
        to complete this install.

    1. Make sure your computer is power-off.
    2. Plug the adapter into one of the PCI slots of your PC.
    3. Turn on the power, then boot into Windows 98.
    4. Windows 98 will find the new hardware automatically,
       then "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box will appear.
    5. Insert the Driver Diskette and click "Next" button.
    6. Select "Search for the best driver for your device
       (Recommended)", then click "Next" button.
    7. Select "Specify a location" and type Path "X:\WIN98" 
       in the text box, then click "Next" button.

       Notice: X: means the floppy drive containing the drivers,
       such as: A:, or B: etc.

    8. Windows 98 will prompt with "DigitalChina DCN-530TX
       Fast Ethernet Adapter" in the dialog box.
    9. Click "Next" button, then Windows 98 will copy the
       drivers to its system directory. 
       
       Notice: During this copying procedure, Windows 98 may
               request for your Windows 98 installation CD.
               
   10. When Windows prompts with "DigitalChina DCN-530TX
       Fast Ethernet Adapter" in the dialog box, click the 
       "Finsh" button.
   11. Remove the Driver Diskette.
   12. Restart your computer to initialize the network function.

(B) Configuring the driver on Microsoft Windows 98
================================================================

    1. Double Click "My Computer" icon.
    2. Double Click "Control Panel" icon.
    3. Double Click the "Network" icon.
    4. Select the "DigitalChina DCN-530TX Fast Ethernet Adapter"
       from the "Network" dialog box, then click the "Properties"
       button.
    5. Click "Advanced" tab.
    6. There are 5 items in the "Property" box.

       ------Media Type      
       .Specify the media type for the adapter.
       .Default: AutoSense
                      
       ------Link Wakeup(Off->On)
       .Specify if Wake on the detection of physical link on is
        enabled.
       .Default: Enabled
       
       ------Link Wakeup(On->Off)
       .Specify if Wake on the detection of physical link off is
        enabled.
       .Default: Disabled

       ------Magic Packet Wakeup
       .Specify if Wake on receiving Magic Packet is enabled.
       .Default: Enabled

       ------Flow Control
       .Specify if 802.3x feature is enabled.
       .Default: Enabled
       
    7. Click "OK" button to return to "Network" dialog box.
    8. Click "OK" button and restart your PC to make the new
       configuration take effect.
