2. Minimum System Requirements
------------------------------
Delphi 2.0 requires Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51 or a 100% compatible
operating system, an 80486 or better processor, and 8Mb of system
memory. A full installation of Delphi Desktop 2.0
requires approximately 71 Mbytes of hard disk space free during
installation, 10 of which are used for install purposes and
will be freed upon completion. An install using the Compact
option requires approximately 21 Mbytes plus an additional 10
megabytes of temporary storage during the installation. You can
also perform a Custom installation selecting only those options
you require for the smallest possible disk space.

Delphi 2.0 has been tested under Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51 and
pre-release versions of Windows NT 4.0.

Running Delphi using the new MS-Windows 95 shell under MS-Windows
NT 3.51 requires that you first install Service Pack #3 for
MS-Windows NT.

3. Installing Delphi Desktop 2.0
--------------------------------------------
To install Delphi 2.0 from the CD-ROM, run SETUP.EXE program from
the \INSTALL directory. This can be run on either Windows 95 or
on Windows NT 3.51.

By default, Delphi 2.0 installs into the \Program
Files\Borland\Delphi 2.0 directory. This INSTALL file and all
other documentation assume you have used the default directory
structure. If you install to a different location, make sure you
do not install over any previous Delphi release.

4. Installing InstallShield Express
-----------------------------------
To install InstallShield Express, run the SETUP program in
\ISXPRESS\DISK1\SETUP.EXE. This can be run on either Windows 95
or on Windows NT 3.51.

5. Installing Delphi 1.02
----------------------------------------
To install the 16 bit version of Delphi 1.02, run
the SETUP program in \DELPHI16\INSTALL\SETUP.EXE.

6. Uninstalling Delphi 2.0
--------------------------
To remove Delphi 2.0 from your computer using MS-Windows 95:

1. Open the Control Panel folder
    2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon
    3. Select Delphi 2.0 from the list display
    4. Click the Add/Remove button
    5. Click the Yes button to remove the software and all
        related files

In accordance with Microsoft uninstall conventions, the uninstall
program will ask before removing any shared files such as those
related to the Borland Database Engine and to OCX controls.

To remove Delphi 2.0 from your computer using MS-Windows NT:

  1. Open the Delphi Program Group
  2. Double-click the Uninstall Delphi 2.0 icon
  3. Click the Yes button to remove the software and all
        related files

If you run Delphi setup more than once, uninstall will "remember"
only the last-installed Delphi components. For example, if you
choose not to install the help files during your first setup and
run setup again selecting only the help files option, then when
you later choose to uninstall Delphi, only the help files will be
uninstalled.

7. Installation Notes
------------------------------

o In the Set Directories dialog, the Browse button displays a
Choose Directory dialog that allows you to select a root
directory where all your files will be installed. On some
systems, browsing to a drive other than C:\ will give an
erroneous message indicating that the drive is not available.
When this happens, simply type in the pathname directly and the
  drive will be recognized.

o Setup automatically sets the target directory for the Borland
Database Engine to the location of any existing BDE. If you use
the Choose Directory dialog to move the base Delphi 2.0
directory to another location and you already have BDE
installed, we recommend resetting your BDE target directory to
  that of your currently-installed BDE.
